A bass viol after Richard Meares 1660 made by Lu-Mi in 2005. Instrument is in excellent condition with new strings. This model is regarded as the best all-around viol, well suited for a wide variety of repertoire.
The plain model features good-quality, aged wood, a matte finished, and minimal decorative purfling around the edges of the instrument. The fingerboard and tailpiece are solid, plain maple and the pegs are rosewood.
The instrument comes with a flight case and bow. Cast carries a motto: "Ceci n'est pas un violoncelle". I'd like to see this placed by end of September '24, so please come and check it out !
