Spinet Style Harpsichord
This spinet style harpsichord was built by the Instrument Guild in Lexington, MA in 1974 by Caleb Warner (model VS-2). The instrument brings a balance between authenticity in sound, stability in tuning, reliability in operation, ruggedness, simplicity in maintenance and modesty in cost. To do this, the musical dimensions (string lengths, plucking points, soundboard shape) are copied from the best antique instruments, while the materials and design are modern.
Dimensions: GG-g”’. Spine 75” depth of 36” from the wall. The lid and music rest can both be closed and secured with the finger nuts included to secure the instrument for storage or transportation. The body of the harpsichord rests on top of the separate three legged metal stand. No tools required for assembly/disassembly. Included with the harpsichord are the matching wooden bench, tuning tools, metronome, spare strings and complete owners manual. The owner's manual is a "time capsule" of the early music keyboard development. Located in Westford, Massachusetts, this instrument must be placed immediately. Listed at $2500./offer
