Franco-Flemish double harpsichord by Achille Christiano 1980:
55 note GG,AA-d"', transposing, 415-440 HZ. 8'8'4' buff. Keyboard of boxwood and grenadilla with arcades. Wooden jacks with delrin quilling ( bottom and top adjustment screws) / Zither tuning pins/ 91 1/2" x 35" , 6 1/4" octave.
HCH is reconditioning the instrument with new voicing and regulation, padded transport cover and full tool set.

Fully painted and decorated in late French style with faux inset panels, garlands based on the 1760 Stehlin (Smithsonian) instrument. Stand is a Louis XVI turned leg platform stand with faux wood patterning. Achille Christiano was principal cabinet maker for William Dowd, later working at the Hubbard shop. His individual instruments are stunning in craftsmanship and decoration.
